Met x Eichholtz presents the Roumier Chair, inspired by the neoclassical elegance of an 18th-century French armchair from The Met’s collection. With Palmer-beige upholstery and black legs accented with brass, our interpretation of the museum armchair exudes refined elegance. Bring the historic charm and timeless beauty of this stunning piece of furniture—part of the Met x Eichholtz Metropolitan Collection—into your space.
INSPIRATION
The Accent Chair Roumier reflects the opulence of a 1788 French armchair from The Met’s collection. The original was one of 16 armchairs commissioned by Louis XVI from master chairmaker Georges Jacob (French, 1739–1814) for his games room in Saint Cloud. Our dining chair pays homage to the neoclassical elegance and meticulous craftsmanship of Jacob’s designs.
